A Catholic Take on Gnosticism
Here is a link to an article about a document written by the Vatican for Bishops about two heresies -
neo-Pelagianism and neo-Gnosticism. The description of Gnosticism is interesting - needless to say one that I do not agree with. It is interesting to see how Gnosticism is viewed by the Church. An interesting paragraph about the press conference about it:
'Asked which is the more important, he said it is “easier” to point to examples of neo-Pelagianism, but you could “fill books” with ancient Gnosticism which is a “very complicated phenomenon.”'
That much is true - it was a "complicated phenomenon." And it is interesting that the Church acknowledges that it is still affecting the culture.
